First class for dancers enrolled in the Beginner Level. Come early so you can get checked in before class begins. This class will immediately be followed by DJ music and the start of the festival!

Come dance in the open air and surrounded by the sea on the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf.
Will be cancelled if it rains.

Beginner
Getting Started: pulse, frame and using the breaks.
Triple Steps & Flow: Learn how to vary your dancing to infinite counts with extending your triples in different shapes.
Kicks and Fast Music: Dance to faster tempos by changing our triple steps to kick step textures and moves.
Intermediate
Rhythm In Your Feet: Adding rhythm and styling to your swing out and movement.
Partner Charleston for Social Lindy Hop: Classic patterns to help you lead and follow Charleston on the social dancefloor.
Building on your Swingout: Dig into some swingout technique to learn some fun and fancy turns.
Interm./Adv. (B Group)
Responsive Connection: Learn moves that help go with the flow of the dance, and be more responsive and predictable for your partner.
Hitting the Music: Take the flow of the dance and keep it going even while you’re doing variations and jammin’ to the music.
6 into 8's, breaking the pattern: Tips and fun ways for follows and leaders to add to movement, counts, and mutual conversation.
Interm./Adv. (A Group)
Go with the Flow: We will use cool pattern variations to move and respond with both fluidity and re-direction.
Partner Charleston: Taking it beyond your standard side by side and tandem patterns.
Sugar Push: Learn the ins and outs of making sugar pushes feel comfortable and connected, plus some fun variations.

The Portuguese Hall is the main venue for the event, where all evening dances will be held.
The 418 Project is the main venue for classes.
The far end of the Santa Cruz Wharf (near Vino by the Sea) is the location for the final dance on Sunday afternoon. (note: this venue is outdoors, so may be cancelled in event of rain.)
Woodhouse is the Late Night venue.
